Specialized recognition for cancer care
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) Approvals Program encourages hospitals, treatment centers and other facilities to improve their quality of patient care through various cancer-related programs. These programs are concerned with prevention, early diagnosis, pre-treatment evaluation, support services and end-of-life care.
Only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receive this special approval. As a recipient, TriStar Summit recognizes the quality of comprehensive cancer care available and indicates a commitment to providing patients access to various medical specialists who are involved in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Types of cancer we treat
Our medical oncologists treat many different cancers, including:
- Bone cancer
- Brain cancer
- Breast cancer
- Colorectal cancer
- Gastrointestinal cancer
- Gynecologic cancer
- Liver cancer
- Lung (thoracic) cancer
- Prostate cancer

Cancer can take many forms, which means your treatment plan should too. Depending on the type and stage of your cancer, you may undergo surgery or radiation therapy. We also offer pain management and cancer rehabilitation services to help you recover after treatment.
Additionally, we provide genetic testing to tell if a mutation runs in your family. Knowing this is useful because there are options available to help lower your cancer risk or help detect cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage.
We partner with our community to support patients and families affected by cancer. From our dedicated nurse navigators to cancer support groups, we are here to make sure you are not alone in your journey. Additionally, we offer counseling, discharge planning, hospice care, nutritional assistance and spiritual support.
