Sarcoma and osteosarcoma care
Sarcoma refers to cancers that begin in the bones and soft tissues and spread throughout the body, Eventually they can impact certain organs, such as the gastrointestinal tract. Osteosarcoma, a type of sarcoma, begins within the cells that form your bones. Treatment plans can include radiation therapy, chemotherapy or surgical removal of the cancer.
Bone marrow transplant
Healthy marrow and blood cells are needed to live. When bone marrow becomes diseased, its function is affected and may require a bone marrow transplant.
During a bone marrow transplant, stem cells are delivered to the bloodstream via catheter and travel through the blood into the marrow. This procedure typically occurs after chemotherapy and radiation therapy have been completed.
